The Cultural Learning Communities (CLCs) merge culture, identity, and academic support through classes, workshops, and peer mentoring. First year students seeking a culturally enriching experience who identify as African American/Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Native American/American Indian, or multiracial are able to participate in one of our Cultural Learning Communities. CLC: African American Student Affairs
Our cultural learning community (CLC), in partnership with African American Student Affairs (AASA), provides a culturally enriching experience for students who identify as African American or Black. Students in our AASA CLC are enrolled in a course taught by AASA staff and paired with a Thrive Center peer mentor. Participating in the AASA CLC allows students to learn about leadership, social justice, and creating community.
CLC: Native American Student Affairs
The University of Arizona campus resides on the traditional land of the Tohono O'odham and Pascua Yaqui people. Our cultural learning community (CLC), in partnership with Native American Student Affairs (NASA), provides a culturally enriching experience for students who identify as American Indian or Alaskan Native. Students in our NASA CLC are enrolled in a course taught by NASA staff and paired with a Thrive Center peer mentor. Participating in the NASA CLC allows students to proactively explore our diverse campus community.
CLC: Asian Pacific American Student Affairs
Our cultural learning community (CLC), in partnership with Asian Pacific American Student Affairs (APASA), provides a culturally enriching experience for students who identify as Asian Pacific American. Students in our APASA CLC attend interactive workshops and are paired with a Thrive Center peer mentor. Participating in the APASA CLC supports students in reaching their full academic, personal, and professional potential.
